In 2009, studio director and producer Dmitri Voloshin with his team launched the first 3D cartoon — “Gypsy and Death”. A few months later, two other cartoons were released: “Baro and Tagar” — a life scene of Balkan Gipsy, and “Santa and Dji” — a “different” Christmas story.
After one year, the Simpals Studio team moves on to a new stage: launching the “Monsters School” — the first school of computer graphics and animation in the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, the team releases a series of animated shorts about the adventures of the unlucky Death named Dji. The first cartoon “Dji. Death Fails” was launched at the end of 2012, and soon after it won over 26 national and international awards. Starting with 2012, Simpals Studio started collaborating with “Galileo” TV show broadcast by СТС channel.
At the end of 2014, the studio launched another cartoon featuring Dji in the foreground: “Dji. Death Sails” — a work that generated an explosion of emotions in the online environment, gathering over 30,000,000 views.
Also in 2019, Simpals Studio released the first VR animated film “Aripi” — a project that has become not just a huge technological breakthrough for Moldova, but also the first virtual reality animated film produced in the whole of Eastern Europe.
Simpals Studio cartoons have obtained over 70 awards at the world's most popular animation festivals, including Anifest, ANIMA, FIFES, NEVADA International Film Festival, and others.
